UPDATE ON THE PARKWAY and FORT HUNT TRAFFIC ISSUES

THE Bump is being fixed.... finally. Crews are working to repair the severe bump in the road on the George Washington Parkway, just south of Fort Hunt Road and approximately 1,300 feet north of River Farm Drive. This bump poses a safety risk to drivers.
Beginning at 7 a.m. today, traffic on the Parkway just south of Fort Hunt Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction. The lane closures will remain in place 24 hours a day for approximately four weeks. Drivers should expect delays, allow extra travel time, and look for alternate routes particularly during rush hour.
The lane closures extend about 0.4 mile in each direction from the bump and affect only this section of the parkway. One northbound lane and one southbound lane will remain closed around the clock during construction. One lane will remain open in each direction.
